Bluefaced Leicester, or BFL, is my local wool-sheep, and it’s a lovely beast. The wool is soft and lustrous, with a bit more drape than merino wool and a slight halo, rather like a mohair blend.
It tends to pill less than softer wool, and wears really well in spite of its softness.
In this yarn the BFL is super-washed so it won’t shrink or felt, and is combined with nylon for extra strength and colourfastness.
