The Twelve Skeins of Christmas is a mystery advent calendar of yarn, filled with seasonal colour and delights.
Twelve 20g mini-skeins hidden inside numbered recycled paper packages, just like an old-fashioned advent calendar, and one full-sized 100g skein for Boxing Day to complete the set.
The yarns will be dyed to complement each other, so you can choose to combine them however you want. How about a Christmas fair-isle yoke? Striped socks? Mittens, or a hat? One of the big skein-set shawls would also work really well – I’m a fan of The Joker and the Thief by Melanie Berg
The yarn will be dyed on a base of my standard fine 75% merino 25% nylon 4ply blend (400 metres per 100g)
You’ll also get beautiful one-off Christmas editions of Burrow and Soar postcards, a set of stitch markers, and some seasonal treats such as Christmas teas, sweets, or scented candles.
This year I’m focusing on sustainability in all our packaging, so the yarns will be sent in recycled boxes from the lovely Lil packaging, who are based in Cambridge, and who focus on well-made, sustainable, low-impact products. If you’ve had an order from me recently you’ll have seen their amazing mailer bags.
All parcels will be sent by the 1st November, ready for you to open over Christmas.
There’s a limited number of these boxes so do bear that in mind if you’d like to order. Last year the advent boxes sold out within three weeks.
