Shipping

All UK shipping is free to you. We post parcels as Second Class parcels.

International shipping is charged at a flat rate of £6.50, no matter the size or distance of your parcel. We use Royal Mail International Standard, which does not include tracking.

We aim to ship your order within 3 working days.

We are transitioning to a more sustainable packaging solution, using compostable paper bags, However, the paper bags we prefer to use may not be suitable for International orders, and we may occasionally use recycled plastic bags instead. We aim to eliminate as much packaging waste as possible by not using tissue paper or unnecessary print-outs.

Can I have tracking added to my order?

Yes – please use the contact form before your order is dispatched. Tracked and signed services vary and will cost more than the standard service, and you will be asked to pay the difference.

About hand-dyed yarn

All the yarn on this website is dyed by hand, and we specialise in immersion dyeing one-off and small-batch skeins on varied bases. No two skeins are exactly the same, which is part of the joy of handmade.

If you’re knitting with skeins from the same colourway and are concerned about consistency, alternating skeins over one or two rows can help to distribute any colour differences.

All the skeins are set in hot water, washed, and dried before shipping. Please wash dark colours separately where possible. If you are combining very dark and very light yarns together, you many want to pre-wash the darker skein before using, to avoid bleeding.

I work hard to photograph my yarn in clear daylight, however everyone’s screen is different and may affect the colour you see on screen.

Caring for Wool

For all hand-dyed yarn, I recommend washing in warm water and using wool wash and a conditioner – I recommend and use Unicorn. Please dry away from direct sunlight to help preserve the colour. Skeins marked Super-wash can be put through the washing machine on wool cycle.
